Polish poet, translator, and essayist.
She was born and lives in Warsaw. Studied graphic arts at the Warsaw Academy of Arts.
Author of poetry collections “Biuro podróży” (2006), “Białe krzesła” (2012), “Czas i przesłona” (2014), “Ścieżki dźwiękowe” (2018), “Miasto z indu” (2022).
She translates poetry from English by William Carlos Williams, William Butler Yeats, Thomas Hardy, Charles Simick, as well as letters by Elizabeth Bishop and Robert Lowell. She has translated pamphlets by Jonathan Swift, as well as books of poetry by Nobel laureate Louise Gluck “Ararat” (2021), “Zimowe przepisy naszej wspólnoty” (2022) and “Dziki irys” (2024).
In 2013, she received the Kostelsky Foundation Award and the Wislava Szymborska Award. Winner of the Warsaw Literary Award (2019). She has participated in numerous literary festivals around the world.
Krystyna Dąbrowska’s poetry has been translated into many languages. The collection “Way of the bees”, published in our magazine, includes poems from the last two poetry collections “Sound tracks” and “City from indium”. Published with the author’s consent.
