Maksym “Dali” Kryvtsov
(1990–2024)
Poet, photographer, machine gunner, Hero of Ukraine.
Born on January 22, 1990 in the city of Rivne.
In 2014, he graduated from the Kyiv National University of Technology and Design, where he studied shoe and leather goods design.
Participant of the Revolution of Dignity. Since 2014, he has been a volunteer at the front. After demobilization in 2019, he worked in veteran organizations, taught photography to children at the Motley Raccoons camp. With the start of the full-scale Russian invasion in 2022, he rejoined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
He has been writing poetry since he was a teenager. He was published in collections with works by other authors — “The Book of Love 2.0. Love and War”, “Where the home is: 112 poems about love and war”, “21st century lullaby Vol. 1: What’s going to rock you?”.
In December 2023, he published the author’s collection of poems “Poems from the loophole”, which was one of the best Ukrainian books of 2023 (Ukrainian PEN).
Kryvtsov’s poems have been translated into Lithuanian, Modern Greek, Polish, Bulgarian, Portuguese, French, and English.
His poems were set to music by the Yurcash group, Adm:t, singer Vivienne Mort.
He died at the front on January 7, 2024.
On August 22, 2025, Maksym Kryvtsov was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine with the award of the Order of the Golden Star (posthumously).
