Yacunã Tuxá was born in 1993 in Floresta, Brazilian state of Pernambuco. A poet, artist and activist of the Brazilian indigenous people, Tuxá, from the town of Rodelas in the state of Bahia.
Her interdisciplinary art encompasses writing, painting, illustration, murals, sculpture, and other experiments. Her poetics — both verbal and pictorial — creates a connection between memory, fiction and desire.
Yacunã writes about her people, her connection with her ancestors and the world around her, testifies to her right not only to exist, but also to joy, enjoyment and meetings.
